The calibre of incredible work people are starting to turn out with processing is getting really off the hook. Check out this unreal vid from Flight404, “Solar, With Lyrics”, set to the amazing Goldfrapp’s single “Lovely Head.” If you have some time and are in the mood to explore, then Flight404 has more than 100 videos on Vimeo. They’re experimental, geometric, and addictive. Beware.

Flight404 also has an exquisitely subtle, organic, almost embryonic vid for Radiohead’s “Weird Fishes/Arpeggi” that was submitted to the aniBoom In Rainbows Contest. You can check out the vid here.

michael flückiger: pandora’s box + typographic spiderweb.

Swiss artist and computer wiz Michael Flückiger combines installation, text art, and computer program design to create interactive text/projection works. I really dig these.

First is “Pandora’s Box.” There was a moment at the beginning where all I could think of was Kubrick’s iconic line “My God… It’s full of stars!” I’m pretty sure it’s saying something about the myth of Pandora. If anyone out there can read German, I would love to know what it says….

Programmed entirely in processing, a new open-source programming language designed specifically for animation and moving images, computer artist Glenn Marshall has created a subtle, beautiful, and mesmerizing world. The soundtrack is “Corsair”, by one of my fave ambient-electro outfits, the amazing Boards of Canada.
