r.e.m. + crush: man sized wreath.

Following the pure win that was R.E.M. and Toronto-based design and production lab Crush‘s collab on the video for “Hollow Man”, they’ve managed to one up themselves with an even better video for an even better song – “Man Sized Wreath”.

Though I’ve read some comments complaining that the Crush-style is too busy, I disagree. Visually cacophonic, for sure, but in a totally sublime way. It takes skill to create such frenzy but still tell the story and lead the eye from visual to visual. If it was messy, nothing would read. To me it’s a brilliant outburst. Torontonians – keep your eye out for the intersection of Yonge and Dundas. You’ll see it when you see it.

I HIGHLY recommend going to the Crush site and watching the high-res version. Otherwise, you might as well be looking at Rembrandts with your sunglasses on. It takes a while to load, but good things come to those who wait. Click here to see “Man Sized Wreath” in its full coolness.

If you’re the impatient, low-quality accepting type, then here’s the YouTube version.
